Students who plan to participate in a study abroad program through Illinois State University may apply for support from the College of Arts and Sciences through the World Wide Campus Student Opportunity Fund.

  • Language Proficiency Assessments

    ISU will accept language proficiency certification through an Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI) by experts at LTI (Language Testing International), an organization affiliated with ACTFL, for over 100 languages.

    The Department of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures offers information on OPI scores, proficiency exams, and self-placement exams for academic credit and free CAP credit for first language courses. 

  • Final Course Grade Challenge

    A student can challenge a final course grade if they believe the grade was arbitrary or capricious and cannot resolve their concerns with the faculty member. Read the Final Course Grade Challenge Policy.

    Fill out the The Initial Appeal to the Department/School form. If the Appeal to the Department/School is not satisfactorily concluded, the Appeal to the Provost form is also available.
