CAS Faculty International Travel Support is an internal award intended to promote high-quality research, scholarship, and creative activity by tenured and tenure-track faculty of the College of Arts and Sciences at Illinois State University. It is intended to supplement travel funds provided to a faculty member by his or her department/school to help defray the costs of professional travel outside the contiguous United States.
Awards may be funded up to a maximum of $750 per award toward one of two purposes: (1) travel to an international site (e.g., a research lab or library at another institution) in order to engage in research or creative activity, or (2) travel internationally to a professional convention to present the results of research or creative activity. Pending the availability of funds, faculty may receive up to two awards - one for each of the activities listed above. Funding for this program comes, in part, from indirect costs generated by externally sponsored contract and fund activity at Illinois State University during the previous year. Therefore, it is expected that recipients of this support program will seek external funding if possible within their discipline. Continued and expanded fund activity will ensure the future availability of this support program.
The Office of the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences will award the International Travel Support awards. Applications from all tenured and tenure-track faculty members will be considered.
CAS is accepting grant applications with no provisions. If you have any questions regarding the CAS International Travel Support Program, please contact the Associate Dean for Personnel, Budget and Planning at (309)438-5669.
