Burningham to deliver Arts and Sciences Lecture November 11
Dr. Bruce Burningham, professor of Spanish studies, theatre studies, and film studies, will deliver the biannual Arts and Sciences Lecture on Tuesday, November 11, at 5 p.m., in the Bone Student Center’s Old Main Room. Admission is free, and the public is invited to attend.
Riaz publishes book on democratic transition in Bangladesh
Distinguished Professor Ali Riaz has published a new book on the democratic transition in Bangladesh. The book, A Fractured Path: Challenges of Democratic Transition in Bangladesh, examines the challenges ahead after the spectacular downfall of the Hasina regime in August 2024 after 16 years of autocratic rule. The country is currently governed by an interim government headed by Nobel Laureate Muhammad Yunus.

Environmental systems science and sustainability student receives Outstanding Student Award from Illinois GIS Association
Dillon Schmidt, a senior environmental systems science and sustainability (ESSS) major, was awarded an Outstanding Student Award by the Illinois GIS Association (ILGISA) at its annual conference held October 19-21 in Lisle.
