Biography
Dr. Aaron Doubet is a Clinical Educator at Illinois State University in the Department of Communication Sciences and disorders. Dr. Doubet holds two master's degrees one in Sociology and one in Speech-Language Pathology as well as a Doctorate in Education: Collaborative High Yield Instruction. Dr. Doubet has been a practicing speech-language pathologist for over 15 years, working across settings and across the lifespan. Additionally, Dr. Doubet has worked in academia as both a clinical educator, academic faculty, and director of clinical education for over 6 years. Dr. Doubet began working for Illinois State University in the fall of 2025. Dr. Doubet's clinical specialties consist of augmentative and alternative communication, culturally responsive practices, pediatric speech-sound system disorders, Autism, and pediatric language disorders.
Teaching Interests & Areas
Dr Doubet's teaching interests consist of augmentative and alternative communication, sociology of health and medicine, fluency disorders, speech-sound system disorders, culturally responsive practices for SLPs, and cranio-facial conditions.
Research Interests & Areas
Dr. Doubet's research interests fall squarely within his areas of specialization including culturally responsive AAC delivery, language processing, SLP student needs and experiential learning, as well as ways in which theory translates or does not translate to evidence based therapeutic interventions.
