Dr. Aslihan D. Spaulding (She|Her|Hers) joined the Department of Economics as the Interim Chair on July 1, 2022. She received her bachelor’s degree in Economics at Bogazici University in Istanbul, Turkey, and later received M.S in Economics and M.S. in Agricultural Economics, and a Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics from the University of Kentucky. <br>She is a Professor of Agribusiness & Food Industry Management. She taught courses in strategic agribusiness sales, food industry marketing and strategic management, computer applications in agriculture, and agriculture and the environment. Dr. Spaulding's research examines consumer/farmer/student behavior, including such topics as big data technology in agriculture, personality traits, learning styles, cybersecurity training, nutrient management, crop insurance, risk management, new product development, and marketing. <br>Her awards include the 2021 ISU Outstanding University Researcher Award, 2020 ISU Outstanding University Service Award, 2020 ISU Impact Award, 2019 ISU Living Our Values Award, 2018 CAST Outstanding Service Award, and 2017 ISU Registered Student Organization Advisor of the Year Award.
