The Leola Lohr Nelson Scholarship was established by her children in honor of Leola Lohr Nelson. Mrs. Nelson encouraged her children to value education and when her grandchildren came along, she played an instrumental role in assisting them to attain their educational goals, also.
Each candidate for a Leola Lohr Nelson Memorial Endowed Scholarship must be or have:
a. accepted for enrollment or enrolled in good standing at Illinois State University
b. completed a minimum of 60 credit hours towards a degree
c. enrolled in any major in the College of Arts and Sciences
d. demonstrated financial need
A single scholarship award will be deposited in the recipient’s Illinois State University account at the beginning of the fall semester to help cover educational expenses ($1,000).
Applications are due in the College Office (Stevenson 141) by 4:00 p.m. on February 3, 2014. Letters of recommendation accepted, but not required.
