Emeritus professors of history Joseph L. Grabill and Gerlof D. Homan had
overlapping careers at ISU. In the late-1970s, in the midst of the Cold War,
they both began to focus their research and efforts on peace studies. The
interdisciplinary Peace Studies program at ISU arose out of the inner
transformation among these two professors and like-minded colleagues.
Candidate Qualifications
Each candidate for a Grabill-Homan Peace Prize must be or have:
a. enrolled in good standing at Illinois State University
b. a Peace and Conflict Resolution minor with a minimum of 30 hours of college credit
