Bradley Attends Conference in D.C.

Robert Bradley

From June 16 to 19, Dr. Robert C. Bradley, a professor in the Department of Politics and Government, attended The Art of Political Campaigning conference in Washington, D.C., which was sponsored by Campaign and Electionsmagazine. Dr. Bradley was one of a select few political scientists at the conference that was designed for political activists, political candidates, and political consultants from around the world. Renowned political strategists gave a series of presentations on contemporary strategies and tactics in running a campaign for public office and for developing and maintaining a public affairs business.

While in Washington, Dr. Bradley met with U.S.  Representative Adam Kinzinger, an alumnus of the Department of Politics and Government, for a discussion on how his undergraduate experiences at Illinois State assisted his political career track. Bradley noted that Kinzinger appreciated the fact that his political views were respected  by his professors. Kinzinger’s key to success, according to the Representative, is to recognize opportunities and then act upon them.
